1:04 How the gallbladder affects the eyes
2:00 Purified bile salts

In this video, we’re going to talk about the relationship between the gallbladder and the eyes. Surprisingly, issues with the gallbladder have the potential to cause several eye problems.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is very important for the health of your eyes. Vitamin A plays a critical role in the following:
• Supports the membrane that surrounds the eye
• Supports the membrane inside the eyelid
• Supports the cornea
• Decreases the risk of infection in the eye
• Prevents night blindness
• Prevents dry eyes
• Prevents ulcers

Carotenoids are a pre-vitamin A found in plant foods like kale, spinach, and leafy greens. Carotenoids are also fat-soluble and play an important role in supporting the macula and preventing macular degeneration.

If you don’t have a gallbladder, or you don’t have enough bile due to a congested or sluggish gallbladder, you’ll have trouble breaking down fat-soluble vitamins like carotenoids and vitamin A. This negatively affects the health of your eyes.

The gallbladder's function is to concentrate bile, which breaks down fat-soluble vitamins. If you’ve had your gallbladder removed, you have a bile deficiency, or you have a sluggish gallbladder, purified bile salts can assist in the breakdown of vitamin A and carotenoids.
