In this video, we’re going to take a look at how high insulin and high blood glucose affect the autonomic nervous system. High levels of insulin and high levels of sugar destroy the blood vessels that supply the nerves with blood.

The autonomic nervous system is composed of the sympathetic nerves, the parasympathetic nervous system(rest and digest), and the enteric nervous system which is responsible for your digestion.

The autonomic nervous system controls activity that you are not conscious of—it’s essentially automatic. Autonomic neuropathy is damage to the autonomic nervous system.

Here are some of the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy:
•Bladder retention
•Lack of bladder control
•Impotence
•Decreased libido
•Gastroparesis
•Constipation
•Blood pressure issues
•Pulse rate issues
•Heart palpitations
•Breathing problems
•Sleep apnea

If you remove the sugar from your diet and reduce insulin spikes, you can alleviate many of these autonomic neuropathy symptoms. A Healthy Keto diet paired with intermittent fasting can help improve the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy as well as your overall health.
