In this video, we’re going to talk about hot flashes and go over some hot flash remedies. The medical term for hot flashes is vasomotor instability. This term means that there is an instability in the feedback loops between the hypothalamus and the ovaries.

This instability creates a flushing response known as superficial vasodilation, and a drop in core temperature every 4 minutes. This physiological reaction results in a hot flash. You might also experience palpitations, heart problems, and perspiration that can even wake you up at night.

A woman has around 400 eggs. When the last one is released, then a woman goes into menopause. On average, this happens around age 52. Hot flashes typically occur when a woman is entering menopause.

After menopause, the adrenal glands take over for the ovaries in producing hormones for a woman’s body. Oftentimes, adrenal weakness is the culprit behind hot flashes. Weak adrenals create an abrupt decrease in estrogen which triggers a hot flash.

Hormone replacement therapy will completely get rid of hot flashes artificially and temporarily, but it also comes with many negative side effects.

There are many natural hot flash remedies like black cohosh, but one of the best ways to reduce hot flash symptoms is to support the adrenal glands.
