2:47 Keto cheat meal?

In this video, we’re going to talk about cheating on keto, and what to do if you do it! If you have a cheat meal when you’re just starting a keto diet, it takes a lot longer to get back on track. If you’re fully keto-adapted, the recovery will be much quicker.

Consuming refined carbs like white flour, white sugar, or alcohol, will cause a lot more damage than if you consume something like fruit or honey. Fruit and honey contain vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, but will still knock you out of ketosis and slow down weight loss.

If you have a cheat meal on keto consisting of refined carbs, it’s a good idea to increase your intake of minerals and B vitamins. Nutritional yeast and electrolyte powder can be very beneficial for recovery.

If your cheat meal consisted of fruit or honey, don't worry about adding nutrients back into your diet. Just focus on getting back on track.

If you find that you’re always cheating on keto and you can’t seem to stick to a keto diet, try studying the diet a bit more. This can help you understand your cravings and help you figure out the right foods to keep you feeling full and satisfied.

Cheat days happen, so try to have something like fruit or honey if you're going to cheat on keto. Remember to get right back on track and don’t make it a habit.
