In this video, we’re going to take a look at the connection between high insulin, also known as hyperinsulinemic syndrome, and metabolic syndrome. This fascinating paper was brought to my attention and examines insulin’s role in several health problems.

This paper also examines how gastric bypass can correct high insulin, even if the insulin resistance remains. Gastric bypass can reverse type 2 diabetes and other diseases associated with metabolic syndrome.

So, what is metabolic syndrome? Here are some metabolic syndrome symptoms:
• High blood pressure
• High cholesterol
• Diabetes or pre-diabetes
• Atherosclerosis
• Central obesity
• Hardening of the arteries
• Non-alcoholic fatty liver
• PCOS
• Sleep apnea
• Certain cancers
• Cardiovascular disease

These diseases all share a common etiology—high insulin. Metabolic syndrome is a term that encompasses all of the diseases caused by high insulin and insulin resistance.

High insulin leads to insulin resistance, which ultimately leads to diabetes. You aren’t typically checked for high insulin, so blood sugar issues aren’t discovered until high insulin has persisted for a significant amount of time.

Insulin levels are a much better clinical marker and can signify a problem before you have high blood glucose levels. High insulin shouldn’t be treated with medication or more insulin! Diet is the best remedy for high insulin.
