In this video, I’m going to show you some simple acupressure techniques that can help relieve the pain associated with a head concussion or traumatic head injury. This can even work for pain from an old head injury!

Your skull is composed of plates that join together along joints called sutures. Head tension can build up along these sutures long after a head injury has taken place. These simple techniques can help minimize the pain associated with new and old head injuries alike.

You’re going to need someone to help you do this, so have them watch this video as well. For a general head injury, place your thumb firmly on the back of the head and gently apply pressure. Hold the forehead to stabilize the head, and continue pressing upwards.

If you have an injury on the side of your head, you’ll want to press towards the injury from different angles. You can also push on the area where the injury was, but on the opposite side of the skull.

Similarly, if the head injury is on the top of the head, you’ll also want to press upwards toward the injury.

This acupressure technique can provide a tremendous amount of relief for both old head injury pain and pain from newer head injuries. Relieving this pain can help you get better sleep, reduce stress, and will help you feel calmer overall.
