Dr. Berg discussed the unhealthy type of ketosis called a classical ketogenic diet. This is used for kids that have epilepsy and is very effective to reduce seizures. It does serve its function to help the body get into ketones but it doesn’t provide a lot of nutrition because it isn’t from the viewpoint of nutrients but instead giving the person a lot of synthetic vitamins. This diet allows you to consume margarine, GMO oils, maltodextrin, soy, and synthetic vitamins.

This unhealthy type of ketosis is also used by people to say that ketosis is dangerous that could cause kidney stones, uric acid, and bad breath.

The benefits of a healthy keto (Ketogenic diet) go far beyond epilepsy and it is completely a different program from the classical ketogenic diet.
