Artist Bio: Staleworth is a Long Island emo institution at this point.
After forming in 2013 out of the ashes of pop punk band Destroy After Listening and hosting a band biography that reads more like an oral history of Long Island emo, Staleworth has built a brand of post-hardcore that feels equal parts timeless, unique and familiar without ever losing its sense of identity.
Their sound, a perfect mixture of the instantly recognizable, airy, cerebral lead guitarwork of Brett Baehr, the staccato delivered moods of James Mann's rifling and the soaring croons to ground shattering gutturals of vocalist Kevin Davis, has reached it's newest evolution with a new airtight rhythm section of bassist Ryan Sweeney, formerly of fellow Long Island powerhouse Crash the Calm and drummer Paul Farias and an immediate and hooky new comeback single in "Days Away", their first release in five years, first of three singles to see release this year and a preview of a much larger batch of songs born out of several feverish pandemic writing sessions. (This is the longest goddamned run-on sentence that has ever been allowed on BlankTV - ed.)
