So many people detox their colon and liver, but overlook their kidneys even though the kidney filters out a lot of waste from the body. Kidneys filter your blood and recycle nutrients, in addition to getting rid of waste.

You’ll use three vegetables: parsley, dandelion greens, and celery. You can juice them, blend a powder made from them into a shake, or consume them as a salad.

Parsley is very nutrient dense. It contains vitamin C, vitamin A, carotenoids, phytonutrients, and something called apigenin, which lowers uric acid in your body. Parsley also is a diuretic, and will help flush excess fluid out of your body.

Dandelion greens are good for your liver as well as your kidneys. They also help decrease uric acid levels, and are a diuretic too.

Celery likewise helps lower uric acid and is a diuretic. I often recommend it to help lower blood pressure, reduce stress levels, and help you to sleep.

Here are the four particular benefits these vegetables provide in a detox flush:

1. Help flush out the things that turn into kidney stones; that is, uric acid and oxalate stones, along with pulling out toxins with the enzymes in these vegetables
2. Provide many phytonutrients to help lower oxidative stress, thus lowering inflammation and protecting your cells from a toxic environment. Your kidneys are very sensitive to chemicals such as pesticides and insecticides.

If drinking as juice, use the same amount as for salad, just juice them and drink it on the same schedule as above.
