In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the hormone and the endocrine system.

The endocrine system is a communication system where you have the gland that makes hormones that delivers messages through the blood, these hormones are then sent to other tissues that have very specific receptors to do their specific functions.

Once these hormones are connected, there’s a signal that gets sent back to the gland confirming that the message has been received and acknowledged, it is called the “feedback loop”.

The negative feedback loop tells the gland to turn off because the function has been complied with. The acknowledgment tends to complete the communication process.

3 Types of Receptors:
1. Receptors in the surface of the cells
2. Receptors inside the cells
3. Receptors that go into the central nucleus or DNA

The receptor is the superior factor of the entire communication network and it is very important because it is protecting the body against excessive communication of the hormone. Too much of a hormone is bad and destructive to the body.

With insulin resistance, there is about 5 to 9x the amount of that insulin that is being pumped out from the pancreas. The reason why that gland is pumping too much is that something is triggering it to produce excessive hormones in the first place.
Inflammation in general can cause insulin resistance and insulin resistance also can cause inflammation.
