Let’s talk about quinoa. Quinoa is a seed from a tall leafy plant, and it’s a little different from other cereal grains. It’s kind of a pseudo-cereal grain.

Quinoa is 53 on the glycemic index, which is pretty low. However, it can still spike your blood sugar.

Quinoa is gluten-free, but it’s usually processed alongside wheat and could be exposed to gluten. Quinoa also has a similar compound to gluten, which can create an inflammatory reaction in the gut.

Many people say that when they consume quinoa, it has a similar effect on them as grains and flour products and bumps them out of ketosis. This is because it still spikes your blood sugar.

Overall, no quinoa is not keto-friendly and isn’t good to consume on the ketogenic diet.
