Caldwell police capture life-saving response to a fentanyl overdose on bodycam

Caldwell Police have shared footage from a body camera video of an overdose with fentanyl and just how lethal the drug can be.

Friends called 911 in August after their friend seemed fine one minute, then overdosed and was unconscious outside of their car in a gas station parking lot the next.

Responding CPD officers immediately administered CPR and three doses of NARCAN. Caldwell Police report that nearly six out of every ten pills with fentanyl contain a lethal dose, and fentanyl is 50 times more lethal than heroin.

After a few minutes of life-saving CPR, the NARCAN took effect and the man regained consciousness. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital.
