In this video, I explain how to boost pregnenolone for more hormone energy.

First of all, what is pregnenolone? It’s a pre-cursor — a building block — to your sex hormones and stress hormones such as:
●DHEA
●Estrogen
●Progesterone
●Testosterone and other androgens
●Cortisol

Pregnenolone is made from cholesterol. If you’ve watched my other videos on cholesterol you know how often I’ve explained that cholesterol’s purpose is as a hormone building block. So if you’re on a statin drug that blocks your ability to make cholesterol, guess what happens to these hormones? They take a dive.

If you don’t have enough pregnenolone or cholesterol, this will impact your:
●Memory
●Energy
●Sleep
●Vitality
●Libido
●And increase inflammation, because cortisol is an anti inflammatory.

Sometimes when you’re going through stress, cortisol will hog pregnenalone and not leave enough to make your sex hormones. There’s a term called pregnenolone steal which means your adrenals are gobbling up most of your pregnenolone.

If your thyroid is slow, that’s another reason your body may not be making enough pregnenolone. Watch the video linked below for what to do if you have a thyroid issue.

You want to make sure your body is making enough cholesterol. Eat enough eggs, high quality meat, and butter. Keep your insulin low. Lower your stress to keep your cortisol low. I have an excellent video for how to do so, called Stress Webinar.

Increase your vitamin D, easily done by getting more sunshine on your skin because it will help lower cortisol. By the way, mushrooms have vitamin D, especially ones that are out in the sun!

Increase your intake of sea salt to recharge your adrenal glands.

You can even take pregnenolone as a supplement. It’s easy to get. I don’t have a particular recommendation; just read the reviews and follow the dosage instructions. It can give you a nice boost, especially if you’re going through menopause or pre-menopause.

I hope you can now appreciate the importance of pregnenolone.
