Loving Gus the Chow Chow back to Life #surgery #pets #experience

In this video I will share with you the path to healing, with your dog, that many people might feel they unable to share maybe. Some of the pictures is blurred because it is not for sensitive viewers.
Gus are my second charity dog / rescue dog, who I fetched from a other province in south Africa 2016 27th October , and created my family with him and fudge my other chow chow, Gus came into my life when things were very unsettled and I went through a few traumatic events because of people, places and situations, and grief. So basically, Gus saved me and rescued me. In December 2021 I saw and felt a lump on gus right side hind leg, I took him to the vet, due to the fact of insufficient funds that I did not have and the vet asking to much, they referred me to a animal charity called animal anticruelty league, you can see on some of the clips where we had to wait to see a vet with other sick doggos. What I would like to put out there is if you do not have sufficient funds ask your vet to refer you to a big dog charity, where the expenses might be much lower, and affordable, or if you are able to afford pet insurance look for a good pet insurance.
Gus was in surgery March 2022 , he spend 5 days at the animal anticruelty league and I went through every day to feed him, I took his food with me, and added chicken and rice and vegetables to build his strength , I took him out of his cage to walk around and doing his business. He came home after those 5 days still with the internal bandage and the cone over his head, I had to give his medicine ( I added the tablets in pieces if chicken) and only took the cone off when I knew I had a complete eye on him , to prevent him from taking out his stiches, and every time when he ate , I swiped the cone with low warm salt water. After 2 weeks the cone the stiches came out and we progressed day for day. Gus is about +- 13 years today 2023. This was not an easy path but today I am grateful that I have done it with Gus, because he showed me everyday even with all of these things going on he wants to be here. Gus is my shadow and he goes everywhere I go, and never leave my side. I am grateful that animal anti cruelty league helped me so much during that time of difficulty and they are truly amazing people. This is just my experience, I had.
