Pagan Arab referred to their chief god Hubal as "al-Lah" (the God) and his house, the Kaabah as
"Baytullah" (House of the God). Hubal or Lah had three daughters: Lat, Manat and Uzza, all of them had their shrines around Mecca. Muhammad venerated them too in the Quran, but later in Medina to convert the Jews to Islam, he labeled these verses as"satanic" and abolished their worship in Islam.
