Is psoriasis contagious? No. Psoriasis is not contagious. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease. With this condition, there are certain parts of the skin that is replacing itself too fast. It may replace itself in only three days when it should be replacing itself in around 28 days. This can result in red scaly plaques on the skin.

A few psoriasis triggers:
• Antibiotics
• Stress
• Infection
• Omega-6 fatty acids
• Statins
• Winter

Steroids do seem to help with this condition. But, there are side effects that go along with this type of psoriasis treatment. A few more things that seem to help are vitamin D creams and UV light. Certain UV frequencies can increase vitamin D in the body.

It has been found that with psoriasis there is an excessive amount of the T helper cell 17, which produces too much of a pro-inflammatory cytokine. Basically, there is an overactive immune cell that’s creating inflammation.

When the T helper cell 17 is too high it can trigger an autoimmune condition where the body starts to attack itself. I did a deep search on what could help suppress the T helper cell 17 and the pro-inflammatory cytokine, and I found a few interesting things.

Potential remedies for psoriasis:
1. Vitamin D (30,000-40,000 IUs)
2. Bile salts
3. TUDCA
4. Probiotics
5. Cod liver oil
6. Carnivore diet
