How much alcohol does a person actually drink per year? It really depends on the country you live in and if you're male or female. On average, men tend to drink more than women. In the United States, drinking alcohol is a trend that's going up.
• In the United States, the average person consumes 2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) of alcohol per year.
• In Nigeria, the average person consumes 3.4 gallons (13 liters) of alcohol per year.
• In Belarus, the average person consumes 4.6 gallons (17.5 liters) of alcohol per year.
However, when you look at these stats, they may be misleading. For example, 30% of Americans don't drink, 30% drink less than one drink per week on average, and 10% of Americans consume ten or more drinks per day.
A few problems with drinking alcohol:
1. It affects the liver in negative ways
2. It depletes vitamins
3. It increases stress
Good substitutes for alcohol:
• Kombucha tea (make sure it has less than 2g of sugar per serving)
• Take nutritional yeast on a regular basis
