In this video, we’re going to talk about why tomatoes are flavorless.

It can be difficult to get your kids to eat vegetables because most of them don’t have any flavor.

Vegetables have hundreds of flavor chemicals. We are attracted to these flavors as a survival mechanism. We seek after flavors because they are a sign of nutrients.

Unfortunately, since the 50s, the nutrients in most store-bought foods have taken a dive. So when you get an amazing-looking tomato at the store, it doesn’t have as much flavor because it doesn’t have the nutrients that give it flavor.

Many foods today are very bland, like commercial chicken, beef, and pork. In fact, many meats have flavors added to them.

Since foods no longer have flavor, many people have started consuming processed foods. This is also known as the Dorito effect. Foods like Doritos are packed full of flavor but have no nutrients to nourish your body and signal fullness.

We’ve made a shift from nutrient-dense foods to flavorful processed foods. This is a major reason why people overeat.

What is the solution? Here’s what you can do:
• Go to the farmer’s market for more nutrient-dense options
• Always choose organic, grass-fed, wild-caught, and non-GMO foods
