In this video, we’re going to talk about a new study that suggests that curcumin is as effective as Prozac for depression.

This randomized controlled trial, involving 60 people, showed that curcumin has the potential to reduce the symptoms of depression, but without the side effect of medications like Prozac.

The side effects of Prozac include:
• Nausea
• Headaches
• Insomnia
• Diarrhea
• Fatigue
• Weakness

Rare side effects also include:
• Chest pain
• Severe dizziness
• Painful erection that can last longer than four hours.

Keep in mind that you should always consult your physician before making any changes to your medication usage. This video is only to inform and entertain.

How does curcumin help with depression?

Curcumin increases something called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). BDNF increases a protein that helps neurons make new connections.

Depression, shrinking of the hippocampus, and many brain disorders are linked to low BDNF.

Curcumin also has the ability to increase serotonin and dopamine. These neurotransmitters directly affect your feeling of happiness and satisfaction.

If you’re going to take curcumin, it’s also a good idea to do Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting. These can all have a major effect on your mood.

Other things that have the potential to boost your mood include:
• Vitamin D
• Probiotics
• Exercise
