Family safe after being trapped on roof for hours

A family of seven climbed atop their roof Tuesday morning to escape the rising waters in southern Overland Park after a night of torrential downpours flooded the area. A local resident apparently helped rescue them around noon once the flood water dropped to a manageable level.
