International anti-terrorist exercise kicks off in Primorye

26.09.23 A joint international anti-terrorist exercise involving the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the armed forces of the member states of the ASEAN and ADMM Plus Dialogue Partners has kicked off at the Sergeevsky training ground of the Eastern Military District in Primorsky Krai.

▫️ The exercise is aimed at strengthening and promoting regional cooperation in counter-terrorism, enhancing operational cooperation among ASEAN countries and their dialogue partners in counter-terrorism, and sharing counterterrorism experience.

▫️ The exercise comprises two stages. At the first stage, representatives of the military command bodies at the operational and tactical levels are to determine the concept and develop a decision to conduct an anti-terrorist operation. At the second stage, the military contingents as part of a multinational grouping are to practise joint practical actions in the course of an anti-terrorist operation at the Sergeevsky training ground.

▫️ Tactical episodes are based on several joint actions between military contingents of the Russian Federation's armed forces, the armed forces of Myanmar, and other partner States.

⚡️ Military bodies and units of the Eastern Military District are involved in the exercise. Operational groups and military contingents of the Armed Forces of the State of Brunei Darussalam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the People's Republic of China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Republic of the Philippines have been invited to the joint actions as part of a multinational grouping.
