'Safe pointing' is part of the Scientology PR strategy for creating a "safe" operations base within a community. The cult concentrates on ingratiating themselves with influence peddlers and then the peddlers reach out to the broader community on the cult's behalf. Celebrities are an integral part of this effort, as we see here with Scientologists John Travolta, Juliette Lewis, Priscilla Pressley, and others shilling at Scientology's Celebrity Center for it's annual Christmas Stories 'fundraising' event.
