Vehicle Crashes Off Highway 50 Following Suspected Carjacking Incident

SACRAMENTO, CA — Early Monday morning, emergency crews, including units from the Sacramento Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and the Sacramento Police Department, raced to the scene of a vehicle crash near the intersection of 28th Street and X Street.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., first responders were alerted to the incident where a vehicle was reported to have veered off Highway 50, plunging down an embankment and colliding with a tree. Radio transmissions further detailed that the car burst into flames following the impact in the vicinity of 28th Street and X Street.
