Making your own yogurt can avoid added sugars and frequent use of plastic that you would use up by purchasing yogurt at the grocery store.

👨‍🍳Recipe
Place 1 quart of milk in instapot, cover
Press yogurt button – will see “boil” on screen, leave until it beeps. *Some Insta-pot models have different directions to get to the “boil” setting*
Remove pot to cool in the side until it’s about 115-120 degrees, takes about 40 minutes
Remove any yogurt ‘skin’ on top
Whisk in 1/4-1/2 cup yogurt with active cultures (reserve some from each batch for this purpose or for the 1st batch, use store bought yogurt)
Place pot back in machine, press yogurt. Time for minimum 8 hours to about 20 hours. The longer it heats for, the thicker and tangier the yogurt.
Should see yogurt “jiggle” in pot when ready
Place cheesecloth on top of fine mesh strainer, and place over bowl.
Ladle yogurt into strainer to drain liquid and place in fridge. This can take a while depending on how thick you want the yogurt.
Place yogurt in jar and store in fridge.
Add whatever toppings and enjoy!
