Minecraft and the Bible - Genesis 25-27 ⛏️📖

In this Let's Play series, we'll be reading the book of Genesis from the Bible while playing Minecraft! We'll follow along as Abraham dies and Isaac marries Rebekah. We'll also see how Isaac and Rebekah's twin sons, Esau and Jacob, grow up and compete for their father's blessing.

Genesis 25-27 is a continuation of the story of Abraham and his descendants. Abraham dies and Isaac marries Rebekah. Isaac and Rebekah have twin sons, Esau and Jacob. Esau is the older brother, but Jacob is the favorite of his mother.

Genesis 25 tells the story of the birth of Esau and Jacob. Rebekah has a difficult pregnancy because the twins are struggling in her womb. God tells her that she is carrying two nations, and that the older will serve the younger. Esau is born first, followed by Jacob.

Genesis 26 tells the story of Isaac and Rebekah moving to Gerar. There is a famine in the land, so Isaac and Rebekah go to Gerar, where Isaac's father Abraham had lived. King Abimelech of Gerar asks Isaac who Rebekah is, and Isaac says that she is his sister. Abimelech takes Rebekah into his harem, but God appears to Abimelech in a dream and warns him that Sarah is Isaac's wife. Abimelech returns Sarah to Isaac and gives him many gifts.

Genesis 27 tells the story of Jacob deceiving Isaac to receive his blessing. Isaac is old and blind, and he knows that he is about to die. He calls Esau and tells him to prepare a meal for him so that he can bless him before he dies. Rebekah overhears this conversation, and she tells Jacob to go and kill two young goats so that she can prepare a meal for Isaac and Jacob can receive his blessing. Jacob does as his mother says, and he deceives Isaac into thinking that he is Esau. Isaac blesses Jacob, and when Esau arrives with the meal, he is furious. Isaac realizes that he has been deceived, but he cannot take back his blessing.
