Bukka White & Napoleon Hairston - "The New Frisco Train"

Recorded May 26, 1930 in Memphis, TN; released 1931 on the Victor label.

There's been some confusion about the performances on this song, which can be cleared up with a few careful listens. White is playing guitar in his signature style, of course, and is also doing most of the spoken asides; Napoleon Hairston handles the vocal itself. It's known that Hairston was a player in the Negro League (specifically, an outfielder for the Pittsburgh Crawfords), and White also played in the Negro League for a time. We may presume that they first met on the baseball field.
