Greenhouses and Dinosaur Oil

The video explores deep-time climate, brief overview of the history of the earth, life and extinctions through time. Reconstructed graphs and charts of proxy temperature data are considered alongside geochemical proxies for carbon in the atmosphere and changes to the carbon cycle. The deep-time or "slow" carbon cycle is also discussed to provide context for how carbon is slowly removed from the atmosphere and into the geologic record over time. The origin of oil is explored along with how and where it most favorable to generate oil. And finally, just as an interesting aside, what happened to the dinosaurs anyway, they were around for a very long time, and successful until they weren't.
