1969 Fender Mustang bass into Fender Rumble 40 demo

I have a lovely vintage Fender bass to demo courtesy of my friend, a wealthy Honk Kong tycoon and guitar hoarder with a strange fascination for vintage goalkeeper gloves and old guitar gear.

He was overcome with Bill Wyman frenzy after he spotted this beautiful bass and bullied me into buying this lovely and original 1969 Fender Mustang bass in competition orange - just like Bill's during the very early 1970's. I duly obliged!
So I am the temporary custodian of this great bass until he finds a period correct Mustang bass case in the grey 'salt and pepper' tolex.

If you have a case for sale or know of one, my friend will be very interested in buying it.
email me via my website!

A colour not seen too much as red and blue examples are more common, it has a Starsky & Hutch style racing stripe and a 30" scale length and is as original as it can be and plays great too.

Now, I am no bassist although I have bought a nice bass myself recently because of this and a few Truefire courses so I will be finger popping and slapping with the best of them in no time at all lol

However, a pick will have to do at the moment.

I am using my new Fender Rumble 40 amp. Really great wee thing and I am seriously impressed with it. For the money, it is a surprisingly loud and full sounding with 3 pre-sets that can be combined. It also has a 4 band EQ with 2 mid controls, a bass and treble along with an on board distortion.
The 10" speaker and ported from baffle give no issues with low end and a handy XLR out is great for recording and I used that for this demo. So pleasing not to have to set up microphones; just one XLR to XLR into the Presonus Studio68C I use.

Listen on a system with full range speakers for the full bass effect.

00:00 Intro
00:11 Pre-set not selected on amp - the normal mode. Firstly at full treble on bass then all rolled off.

02:00 Contour pre-set selected
02:52 Vintage pre-set selected
03:46 All pre-sets on at the same time
04:43 Distortion turned on with Vintage pre-set
