Featuring my Funky Jazz Bass!

Made in the USA in 2016.

A reproduction of the mid '70's classic Fender of the day - still with the 4 bolt neck, block inlays and neck binding but with a chunky U shaped neck and thumb rest above the low E string.

It also has the later black pickguard and comes with the metal pickup covers. You don't see these vintage covers outside of the special re-issues and I love the look of them.

I'm demoing it with a Fender Rumble 40 out via the XLR and trying to play some bass stuff although I'm still new to it and trying out some techniques, so forgive the playing, you bass experts out there.

The bass features 2 single coil pickups and I cycle through them and turn the tone control down at points. Compared to a guitar, this of course has less of an obvious effect on the sound but the zing is replaced by a sonorous bass. It has 3 controls: a volume for each pickup and a smaller master tone pot nearest the jack socket.

The bass came with flat wound strings and this is what you hear. I'm going to experiment with strings but am going to play these for a while. They feel smooth but quite weird for me. I have DR Sunbeam 45-105 on order so round wound will be tried too
