Comparison of original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior with Gibson custom shop re-issue: Part 1 acoustic

I have the opportunity to document a couple of guitars!
My friend Brian owns an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior and I have captured it for a few weeks.

Eventually I will release Brian from the bamboo cage in the basement but until then I'm going to do some comparison.

The 1959 is original but for the tuners which look to have been replaced by 3 a side metal equivalents quite some time ago. It has had a headstock break but it's solid and features the original pickup, electronics and finish. It's seen rock and roll battles for sure!
The bridge has been replaced by Brian for an intonated one and it has been refretted.

The 2019 Gibson custom shop 1958 re-issue is stock bar an intonated bridge from Mojoaxe and has been given a sound demo already.

Part 1 here is a test of the acoustic nature of these one piece bodies. How close are they in terms of actual acoustic resonance and volume. Is one hugely different from the other? Is the 1959 magically projecting spirits from the dawn of Rockâ„¢? Is the re-issue blowing away the cobwebs of hundreds of smoky pub gigs and Gary Moore licks?

I use a Rode NT1-A placed where the neck pickup might have been if it had one and recorded some chord stuff.

See what you think. Listen on headphones or good speakers and at 1080p for the full effect

Part 2 will be these 2 lovelies into an amp or two!
