President Joe Biden has threatened to veto a House bill funding the Department of Homeland Security. The agreement, per the White House, was to hold nondefense spending at 2023 levels. Instead, the "partisan bill" cuts spending levels to well below the previous agreement. Many of the cuts would come from clean energy-related programs.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson flips parties to become a Republican, saying cities in the U.S. need more Republicans. He wrote in a statement urban areas depend on quote “mayors to champion law and order and practice fiscal conservatism," and the democrat party was not committed to making the country safer.

Uber Eats is slated to start accepting SNAP next year. Some states could see the benefits as soon as Oct. 1, 2024.
