Our thoughts don't change unless our feelings do. And more often than not we cannot alter our feelings, especially about ourselves, until we become more discerning in three major areas of our thought life: how we judge others, how we believe we are perceived and how self-accepting we are in the present moment.
If we can adjust our mental sails to be less preoccupied with the actions of others, what they might be thinking of us and unjudgemental of our present circumstances, our mood will naturally raise and our thoughts will automatically incline themselves to trend more positively. Which in turn frees us up to think more creatively, making our constantly problem-solving minds available to real potential solutions that can positively impact our lives and the world around us.
