Alright thank you very much, and hello again radio friends. How in the world are you? You doing alright today? Well, I trust so, bless your heart. Yes, this is your friend Dr. Cook and I’m glad to be back with you to share from the Word of God and try as we sometimes say, to put a handle on it, so that you can get hold of it for yourself. I’ve just been praying that God might put His love and His truth, His compassion and His understanding, His wisdom and His power into what yours truly has to say. May God grant that prayer for His name’s sake.

You and I are looking it the gospel of Mark. We’ve come now to verse 22. The Lord Jesus came to town called Bethsaida, “And they brought a blind man unto Him and besought Him to touch him, and He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town and when He had spit on His eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw ought” we would say anything. “He looked up and said, I see men as trees walking.” After that He put His hands again upon his eyes and made him look up and he was restored and saw every man clearly. He sent away to his house saying, ‘Neither go into the town nor tell it to any in the town”. Bethsaida. Why did all of this happen do you think? What is the, what is the point?

Well, the Lord Jesus has been rejected by people, and at this point He’s going to, He’s going to take care of the needs of the this blind man outside of that city, it appears. It was the original hometown of Philip, Andrew, and Peter, located on the Plain of Bateihah, east and north of where the Jordan River enters the Sea of Galilee. Bethsaida. Why would He do that? Well I don’t know to tell you the truth. If it was the hometown of Andrew and Simon Peter, then certainly the people knew about Him and certainly they had seen Him do these wonderful miracles and all of that. All that was true you know, but the same time, it was true that these people had not received Him. And they were… the crowds were following, but they weren’t believing. That was the score there, it seems to me. In any case it said, “He took him out of town and then He applied saliva to His eyes and put His hands on him”, and the first touch He said, “I see men as trees walking”, the second touch he was restored and saw every man clearly. What do you make of this? Number one; there are some times God has to take you away from the crowd in order to get His work done in your heart.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
