Adidas AG is a German multinational company that was started in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria and is headquartered in the same city. The company manufactures and designs shoes, cloths and other accessories. In Europe, it is the largest sportswear manufacturer and world’s second largest sportswear manufacturer after Nike (Adidas, Deutsche Telekom, Infineon: German Equity Preview, 2012). The company holds 8.33% shares in Bayern Munchen and Runstastic football clubs partnered with an Austrian fitness technology company. The revenue for Adidas in 2018 was recorded as € 21.915 billion (Adidas, Adidas Annual Report 2018, 2018). The company was founded in 1920s by Adolf Dassler and Rudolf joined the company in 1924. The company went through many design changes starting from metal spikes to utilizing the rubber and canvas, the materials that are still used in the Adidas products. The products of this company are considered as the best quality sportswear all around the world and is used by many well-known sportsmen. The logo of Adidas consists of three stripes that are used as branding mark that was bought from Finnish sports company for only € 1600.
