Riding A Secret Empty Pool In LA: Jungle Bowl

This was one of my all-time favorite empty pools to skateboard in because it was in such a awesome spot with the best view, surrounded by wildlife on top of a hill, above the helicopters in the valley, had peacocks roaming the trees and often times seen in the pool area. This is probably the coolest empty pool I have ever skated even though the pool itself was not the best pool or the easiest to ride. It had a very mellow waterfall, so generating enough speed to properly hit the lip for a decent grind was difficult. You had to slingshot from the shallow end to the deep end. It was steep, deep and had a rough texture to it. Once we added the pool coping, that added another 4 inches of vertical on top of already about 3 feet of vert. So it was a pretty gnarly pool to ride and very few really had it down. At the time there were a lot of skateboarders that would come up there but very few could put lines together and even fewer could skate it well but it was an awesome spot. Many people learned how to skate there. You know places like this just don’t pop up very often. This is a once in a lifetime skate spot. If you got to ride there, let us know in the comment section.
