Out of all possible ratings: Terrible, Bad, Average, Good, Great....

My rating, based upon my playthrough experience, is: Good!

This will be a quick review! If you've played the old Silent Hill games you know what you're in for. If you haven't, you are stepping into some of the best of what the genre of Survival Horror has to offer. Silent Hill 3 holds up well today when compared with other similar games of that time, due largely to the 3d design and a controllable camera instead of a fixed camera. This game explores the events of the Silent Hill, the original, and adds to that story. Heather Mason heads back to Silent Hill to uncover more about her birth and the truth about her identity.

You will encounter all a grotesque array of enemy types and terrible situations as you try to uncover the truth. The story and narrative are good, but they never become as unnerving as Silent Hill 2 and fails to capture the sense of doom found in Silent Hill 1, which is best exemplified with the tragic story of Lisa. Overall, it's a good, if disturbing, journey from beginning to end.
Silent Hill 3 is available on PlayStation 2, and PC.
