Lucknow- The Residency

The Lucknow Residency is a witness of the First war of Independence in 1857. Lying to south of Gomti river its roofless buildings and smashed walls sprawling in a vast area of 33 acres stands witness to one of the most memorable siege of this British stronghold by the Avadh forces in 1857.
