Welcome to Day 266, September 23rd, 2023. We read of the time of King Ahasuerus of Persia's reign in the 400s BC. We read of the King's Banquet, the queen Vashti deposed, Esther of the Jews is made Queen, Mordecai, her uncle and adoptive father, uncovers a conspiracy against the King. Haman, the King's second in command, plots to genocide the Jews. Mordecai persuades Esther to help her people. Esther prepares a banquet to be able to make a request to the King in front of Haman.
