In this video I discuss how you can make water safe to drink using heat. Boiling VS pasteurization

Pasteurization Temperature VS Time
Temperature Time
145F / 63C 30 minutes
161F / 72C 15 seconds
191F / 89C 1.0 seconds
194F / 90C 0.1 seconds
204F / 96C 0.05 seconds
212F / 100C 0.01 seconds
Keep in mind that the water passed through each previous temperature for a period of time (albeit, very short amount of time) before reaching the next.
