Guitar Love - Scott Spalding

Hello everyone

I decided to call this song Guitar Love, firstly because I just love to play the guitar, especially the acoustic, the way it resonates with me is a truly warming and loving feeling. Not only this but for the 20 or so years that I have been playing the guitar I have always had bog standard guitars, always low end ones where no matter how hard you try to put your emotion into producing a sound, the instrument itself prevents it from truly carrying forth in the way that I wanted it too.
That was until I spent a long time saving up for my current acoustic which is a Martin D15M. It is probably the best acoustic guitar I have played, I love it, I think the sound of it is absolutely fantastic.
When I spent about 6 months trying out different guitars in music shops I tried ones that were up to 4 and 5 times the cost of the D15 but I still kept being drawn back to this one.
In fact a tip for people who are deciding on what guitar to get is this, take your time in choosing, try as many as you can and if you find one you are more drawn to, take a step back. Go away and have a think about it, then go back and try it again with a fresh set of ears. Don't concern yourself with brands and sales pitches, listen to your heart and your ears.

This recording was spontaneously recorded a couple of months after I bought my D15 last year and it consists of 3 tracks. I first started with some chords, then started soloing over those chords. When I recorded the 2nd solo I either muted the 1st solo and then unmuted and found they worked together or recorded the 2nd solo whilst listening to the 1st, because it was over a year ago I can't quite remember although I think it was the first case as this rings a bell in the ol' noodle department.

I wanted to choose a beautiful picture to go with this tune, something smiley and sunny but when I was looking though my current picture collection I was drawn to this picture. There is something about it which I love.

I have many instrumentals, tunes that were spontaneously recorded like this one, some better with regards to errors, some not however after thinking about them over the past couple of days I came to the conclusion that I am not trying to make the 'perfect tune' here by re-recording until it was without errors but rather just sharing that moment that was with me when I pushed the record button.
