The Sixth 5th of August - Scott Spalding

The Sixth installment of my '5th of August' series.

Every year on the 5th August I attempt to create a video and some music and upload it to youtube.

I started quite late today due to being away for the day with the family. I started around 8pm. I dug out a very old electric guitar (yamaha something or other I was given) that I have never plugged in and realized the strings were rusted and filthy. So I searched for my mexican strat, started to tune it and the 1st string went el-snappo.... well it has been sitting in the cupboard unfortunately unused for the past 2 years.
So I decided to clean up the strings of the yamaha which sounded surprisingly nice and after doing a couple of test recordings I noticed the selector switch was broken and I was getting bad interference (the pickups were moving around too much in their scratch plate and there is probably no shielding inside) soooooo I put it away with a mental note to open her up another day to fix and decided 5 strings are better than no strings so I started a few test recordings with the strat instead.

Starting late in the evening and not off to a good start at that but alas, I made it just in time :D
I believe this is the first time since the 'fifth 5th of August' I have recorded anything and boy do I miss it. I have been kept very preoccupied with other things over recent years but that will change eventually :)
