Kishkentai - Kurmagazy Sagyrbayuly

Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly was born in 1806 and died in 1879. The pages of the terrible history passed by the Kazakh people and his personal suffering, thoughts about life and vivid scenes of the Kazakh steppe and national holidays were reflected in his moods.

One of the outstanding works of Kurmangazy is the tune "Kishkentai". According to the students and followers of the great poet, this poem is dedicated to the rebellion of Isatai Taimanuly.

No matter what subject Kurmangazy wrote, there were all kinds of human feelings in it - love, kindness, goodness and mercy. He had his own style of performance and his own national drum school.
