Introduction To Prayer (The sword of the Spirit) - EP7

Welcome back to episode 7 of Foundations in CHRIST.
In our last session we learned about beginning our walk with CHRIST. A major foundational aspect of our walk with Christ is established through prayer. A Christ follower who has a poor prayer life will experience a poor spiritual walk. We can't get to know God and get to know his voice without spending time in a conversation with him.

So, let's take some time to establish a solid foundation for walking with Christ by learning more about what scripture says prayer is. By going deeper into learning scripturally what prayer is we will set a clear foundation for a solid prayer life in Christ.

Statistically speaking most Christians have a poor prayer life at best. For many, a prayer life is nonexistent. I believe it's because most Christians have been taught a very unclear definition of prayer or a limited establishment of prayer.

So let's learn what prayer is from the word and by the one who actually asks us to pray. Let's start by reading some scriptures of God's request of us to pray. We will understand much better on what prayer is if we have a clear understanding of what its origins are.

So here are several scriptures that shows God's request of prayer from us to Him and how he is listening and waiting for us to pray to him so that He can perform His promises. There are many, many, more scriptures that point to what God asks from us in prayer so it would be very beneficial to any follower to do a study on the rest of the scriptures throughout the Bible pertaining to prayer.
