Solar Sage is a member of the Enlighten-Mint family.
Solar Sage costs 0 Sun.
When planted, Solar Sage drops 50 Sun. (+50 Sun at level 3.)
Solar Sage has a 20 second recharge. (-1 second per level.)
When a non-giant zombie approaches Solar Sage, said zombie will be converted and leave Dave's lawn.
When this happens, Solar Sage will be consume and drop 100 Sun. (+50 Sun at level 7.)
When an illuminated zombie encounters another zombie, there is a 10% chance to convert the zombie. (+5% chance per level except levels 3, 5 and 7.)
Every five (5) seconds, an illuminated zombie will drop 50 Sun. (-0.5 seconds at levels 5 and 9. Sun will increase every even level - by 10 or 15 Sun.)

Commentary:
When one reads all of that, one wonders how effective Solar Sage is. There is no “damage”. There is no elimination of zombies. One sees small Sun drops and wonders if Solar Sage is just a very weak version of Gold Bloom or Enlighten-Mint.

Bottom Line:
After one has play with Solar Sage, one realizes how great this plant actually is.
• Gives Sun when planted.
• Eliminates a zombie - great for the early part of the level.
• Can handle a straggler zombie.
• On Boosterama levels, Solar Sage will convert all non-giant zombies in a 3x3 area.

This plant can fill some holes as soft spot removal.
The plant can fill the role of 2ndary Sun producer.
Not bad for a plant which does not cost any Sun.
