How to prevent dog pee spots: One option is to try to prevent the dog pee from burning the grass in the first place. There are products you can put in your dog’s drinking water that are supposed to change the chemistry of their urine to keep it from burning the grass. My dog doesn’t drink out of any bowl we give him. So I know they wouldn’t work for me. If you have had success with these products PLEASE let us know in the comments!! What I do: I fix the dog pee spots with turfmend or plugs. Turfmend is a seed and compost or sand mixture that you can put in bare spots to spot seed. They make it mostly for golf courses and sports turf to repair divots but we can use it as homeowners for several different things. Another option is to plug the dog pee spots with a plugger.
