We will do all we can to stop the corruption and get Donald Trump elected in 2024.
Josh McKoon is a former State Senator. He put his name in the hat for chairman of the GA Republican Party only after Rebecca Yardley did. There are rumors around that there were some people that didn’t want Rebecca as chairman. Josh McKoon is an attorney and works for the Technical College System of Georgia, it is a state job. And he is the CEO of the GA Republican Party, INC. Brian Kemp is the guy in charge of the Technical College System of GA.
The GA republican party is financially struggling. The GA republican party has agreed to help pay the attorney fees for Shawn Still, David Shafer and Cathy Latham. This could possibly bankrupt the party. Who knows this could bankrupt the party that is all made up of the grassroots since the convention? Was this the plan all along?
Kemp signs bill giving big money donors more impact on key races. Kemp knew he wanted to shift the entire state party. There was a shift for every republican from the GA republican party. “Without any public notification from his office, Briank Kemp quietly gave his approval to a new law allowing state leaders to set up committees that could raise money during General Assembly sessions while lobbyists are trying to get legislation passed. SB221 - which was pushed by the Republican majority and opposed by Democrats - also allows new committees backing Kemps’ reelection and those of legislative leaders to raise and spend unlimited contributions from donors, essentially circumventing current limits on how much individuals, special interest and businesses anc give to candidates.”
Kemp moves to take command of the GOP leaving the state party behind. He is very bold in what he says. Kemp's leadership committee has become a parallel fundraising and voter turnout structure that has rapidly filled the void of the GOP, a once powerful organization that helped marshal a flood of spending in competitive races. The group's new mission, which includes a focus on both national and local elections, coincides with Kemp's efforts to gain influence in the 2024 WH race. The law also gives him a tremendous advantage as democrats can’t set up their own leadership committee until the party has a nominee for governor or LT governor. The governor can raise without a democrat countermeasure all the way through the 2026 primary when a nominee is elected. This gives Gov Kemp the ability to impact races over the next three years while building a huge war chest of unlimited contributions that can be used to launch a 2026 Senate campaign.
There was opposition. GA senate panel backs new ban on fundraising during legislative session. Unless Gooch’s amendment wins final passage, the new leadership committees would likewise be able to solicit and take unlimited contributions from lobbyists and special interests during the session.
