Heating plastic containers (tupperwares) in dishwashers that use heat to dry dishes can leach microplastics, which can deposit in the body. BPA and phthalates are toxic substances that can come from microplastics. However, there is still more data and research needed to identify if these cause diseases (apart from just being deposited).
