'We do our best to make them happy. If a soldier from Dagestan comes, I'll search the warehouse to find things that girls from Dagestan sent, so I can tell him, 'Here your countrywomen made these especially for you'. And you see tears in the eyes of men in the uniform. And we tear up due to this connection: that the man feels a bit of home'. Volunteer Ksenia Kovtunova-Sulimenko is working on helping Russian servicemen. Every day, ordinary people from all over Russia, from the Caucasus mountains to Western Siberia, go extra miles to help Donbass fighters fulfil their everyday needs. The aid ranges from home knit sweaters and socks to freshly prepared meals.
