How do we integrate Autism?
Should Autism mean being born different? Is Autism may only a different way of perceiving life?

Jessica Penot, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor in Madison, Alabama, who specializes in treating trauma and autism spectrum disorder. She is the founder and director of Tree of Life Behavioral Health and has spoken and written about autism on platforms including “The Art of Autism”.

We have created a square box labeled “Normal. Everything outside the box is labeled with different categories and Autism falls into that category. This video is the raise awareness about Autism and neuro-divergent people. What it is and what it is not?

Per google, the definition of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain. People with ASD often have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. Maybe Autism people see the world with transparency.

Transparency shouldn’t be construed as threatening. Why is honesty perceived as social impairment? Jessica Penot and I embark on discussing Autism since both of us deal with this in our daily lives. My oldest son exhibits Autism and Jessica is an expert in understanding this condition due to her lifelong experience. Self-love is necessary for everyone and especially if you have Autism. Accept yourself for being different and unique. Your uniqueness makes you contribute to the world in the most unique way like “the rain man”.
