House Republicans clash with Attorney General Garland

House Republicans and Attorney General Merrick Garland engaged in a heated exchange on Wednesday, with Republicans alleging that Garland and the Justice Department have been using their authority to advance the interests of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, characterizing it as the “weaponization” of the department.

Garland’s appearance before the House Judiciary Committee marked his first in two years and occurred during an extraordinary period in the department’s history.

He currently oversees two significant cases: one against Donald Trump, the first former president to face criminal charges, and another involving the son of the current sitting president, the Associated Press reported.
